South Carolina Republican Nancy Mace’s seemingly innocent Christmas card suddenly set the internet on fire after speculation rose that the outspoken Republican is pregnant.
Late last week, Mace — who is running for governor of South Carolina — posted a picture to Instagram of her in a brown dress with a Christmas tree in the background.
The caption reads, “Season’s Greetings,” implying her version of a Christmas card to America.
But it’s Mace’s hand placement in the photo that has many wondering… is she expecting!?
Take a look.

Some of the comments from Mace’s Instagram followers included:
- Is Nancy pregnant?
- Pregnant? Congrats!!
- Congratulations! Can’t wait to find out who the baby daddy is.
- Pregnant with baby number 3 congrats!!!!
- Nancy. Congratulations on your pregnancy
- Congratulations. When are you due?
- Is Nancy knocked up?
Others dove more deep into the theory Mace could be expecting — or simply a victim of a poorly timed photo.
Journalist Kristi Leigh suggested a cropping job, writing, “Cropping could save you from creating confusion. :/”
Another wrote, “If it turns out that Nancy Mace is not pregnant and actually photoshopped a baby bump on her tiny Ozempic body so she could deliver a viral ‘never comment on women’s bodies’ monologue… I might actually die of laughing.”
In the meantime, Mace has not commented on the photo — or commented on being pregnant (or not).
