Last fall, excited voters chanted two phrases as they set up President Donald Trump’s incredible 2024 presidential victory: “Make America Great Again” and “Make America Healthy Again.”
The MAGA-MAHA alliance powered President Trump into a nationwide victory in every swing state and made him the first Republican in 20 years to win the popular vote.
Now, just as the Thanksgiving dinner is settled, reports say Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may try to keep the coalition together by running for president in 2028.
A call from RFK Jr.’s supporters has touched off heavy speculation the 2024 Democratic presidential hopeful may have his heart set on another presidential run—as an independent.
After the Democratic Party denied voters a real alternative to then-President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential primaries, RFK Jr. bolted his family’s party and launched his own third party, the We The People Party.
Even though RFK Jr. dropped out of the race and endorsed President Trump, 31 states—egged on by Democrats—refused to take Kennedy’s name off their state ballots. Nine of those states listed him as the We The People Party’s candidate.
The party, which has stayed dormant for a few months, is back—and its health is better than ever.
The We The People Party officially relaunched in September… and it’s gearing up to nominate a presidential candidate in 2028, when party activists want Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to make a second presidential bid.
“Yeah, we will be able to run national candidates” by 2028We The People Party Chairman Levi Leathberry confidently predicted.
Having a political party, instead of an independent bid, helps candidates like RFK Jr. get around state ballot access laws designed to benefit the two major parties. If the party gets access to a state ballot—by, say, performing well in the midterm elections—it can name a presidential candidate in three years without spending a dime.
And a third party doesn’t have to be on the ballot in all 50 states in order to win the election.
“We only need to get to, like, 26 states for it to be as useful as it will be to any presidential candidate,” added Leatherberry. “That’s our focus.”
The group plans to run solid candidates, especially in New York state, then nominate someone like Kennedy, who serves as President Trump’s secretary of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS),
It’s not the first time people have surmised Kennedy plans a second presidential campaign. In July, a Zoom call of his supporters touched off rumors of a Kennedy ‘28 bid.
Influencer Laura Loomer cited a Zoom call held by Dr. Robert Malone—whom RFK Jr. appointed to the HHS’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices—as well as MAHA PAC leader Tony Lyons and top RFK Jr. adviser Stephanie Spears as evidence Kennedy would use his position at HHS for his own political gain.
“I think that there’s a clear intention by Stefanie Spear to utilize her position to try and lay the groundwork for a 2028 RFK presidential run,” Loomer told Politico’s Playbook.
Critics say Laura Loomer pounced on the call to question Kennedy’s loyalty to the president. But talk of RFK Jr.’s 2028 plans has gone on since at least last September, when the candidate tapped Kennedy for his transition team.
“You’ve gotta run in 2028,” one young podcaster urged Kennedy during the interview.
“OK,” responded RFK Jr., nodding.
“Are you going to?” the co-host asked.
“I don’t know,” Kennedy replied… but he’s won more support from powerful media figures more recently.

Influential conspiracy talk show host Alex Jones said he would prefer Kennedy to anyone else in the administration today.
“I know it’s supposed to be JD Vance and Marco Rubio in 2028. It needs to be RFK Jr,” said Jones during the HHS secretary’s confirmation hearings.
In fact, Jones said the 2028 winning ticket should be Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and running mate Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 and now serves as President Trump’s director of national intelligence.
Leatherberry said, if RFK Jr. doesn’t run for president, his We The People Party could consider nominating Gabbard or Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie.

Polls show Vance is the front-runner for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination—but he will face a crowded field that includes Senator Ted Cruz and possibly even members of the Bush family.
MAHA and Jones voters may have yet another possible 2028 contender in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., the MAGA congresswoman who resigned her congressional seat effective next January.
Greene now ranks as the third most popular candidate for the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential nomination, according to the political betting website Polymarket—just two points behind Marco Rubio.
President Donald Trump ranks fourth.

Both MTG and RFK Jr. deny they plan to run for president in 2028.
Then again, the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary are more than two years away, which is an eternity in politics.
Can either of them resist scratching the itch to run for president if the polls still look good in 2027?
Would you support either of them? Who do you think should succeed President Donald Trump as president of the United States and leader of the MAGA movement in 2028?
