[WATCH] Donald Trump’s hilarious response to Nancy Pelosi’s retirement

Outgoing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has had an eventful week.

On Monday, she dubbed President Donald Trump a “vile creature” and the “worst thing on the face of the Earth” in an unhinged interview on CNN — despite the government being in the midst of the longest shutdown in history.

“He’s just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the Earth. But anyway,” she said to reporter Elex Michaelson.

Michaelson asked, “You think he‘s the worst thing on the face of the Earth?”

Pelosi replied, “I do, yeah. I do.”

Roll the tape —

Yesterday, Pelosi announced that she won’t be running for reelection and is retiring from her political career.

This of course prompted a massive response on Capitol Hill, including a response from President Trump, who has butted heads with Pelosi since his first term in office.

When asked about his thoughts on his adversary leaving politics, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy read aloud a text that he received from Trump.

And let’s just say there’s no love loss here.

Here’s the entirety of the text Trump provided to Doocy:

“The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a great thing for America. She was evil, corrupt, and only focused on bad things for our country.

She was rapidly losing control of her party, and it was never coming back.

I’m very honored she impeached me twice – and failed miserably twice.

Nancy Pelosi is a highly overrated politician.”

Late yesterday, Trump spoke with reporters at the White House who pressed him further on Pelosi’s retirement adding that “she did the country a great service by retiring.”

“She’s an evil woman. I’m glad she’s retired,” Trump told reporters.

“I think she was a tremendous liability for the country. I thought she was an evil woman who did a poor job, who cost the country a lot. a lot, in damages and in reputation. I thought she was terrible.”

Pelosi, now 85, served 19 terms in Congress and became the first woman to become Speaker of the House.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) praised Pelosi as “the greatest Speaker of all time.”

“The United States is a much better nation today because Nancy Pelosi dedicated her life to serving the children, the climate, the country and the American people.”

But perhaps the lasting image of Pelosi’s time in the lower chamber is her ripping up Trump’s State of the Union address in 2020.
