Legendary golfer Phil Mickelson is on the short list of athletes who aren’t afraid to speak their mind or take risks — especially when it comes to speaking his mind about politics.
This weekend, Lefty took direct aim at two, powerful Democratic lawmakers over controversial comments they made surrounding the death of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
In a series of social media posts that have now gone viral, Mickelson attacked Dem. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) on Saturday after the outspoken “Squad” member insulted Charlie Kirk and his legacy.
During an interview on CNN, Omar addressed her recent social media posts in which she called Kirk “Dr. Frankenstein,” doubling down on those comments and saying his legacy should be left in the “dustbin of history.”
“What I find jarring is that there’s so many people willing to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said, that they agree with that, that they’re willing to have monuments for him, that they want to create a day to honor him, and that they want to produce resolutions in the house of Congress honoring his life and legacy,” Omar said.
Like a wedge in his hand, Mickelson fired back spectacularly, saying:
“Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and will hopefully be sent back to Somalia soon,” Mickelson said.

Lefty wasn’t done, turning his attention to another outspoken Democratic lawmaker — Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
During a Sunday interview with CNN, Crockett compared Republican politicians to Adolf Hitler. During the CNN segment, Crockett said she uses that comparison because it is “accurate language.”
“Jasmine and Ilhan spew hate every time they open their mouth, and it is total bullsh!t. They are the problem, certainly aren’t the solution, and they both need to go,” Mickelson wrote.

Mickelson was mostly praised for his rebuke to Omar and Crockett in his X responses.
Mickelson has been outwardly supporting on social media of Kirk in the days following his assassination in Utah, making frequent X posts commemorating the conservative influencer and celebrating his life and legacy.
👏👏 Well done. His memory and legacy lives forever! https://t.co/K9ZVasfVWq
