Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing calls to lose her job over comments she made surrounding the fallout of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
With the backlash being led by a group of powerful conservatives who to umbrage to Bondi after she threatened to prosecute Americans for using “hate speech.”
During an appearance on “The Katie Miller Podcast,” (which is hosted by the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller), Bondi openly endorsed what she called “hate speech” prosecutions.
Bondi said that targeting purveyors of hate speech has become more important in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
“There’s free speech, and then there’s hate speech. And there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society,” said Bondi.
“We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.”

Bondi’s “hate speech” comment immediately sparked backlash from top conservatives.
“Get rid of her. Today. This is insane,” Daily Wire host Matt Walsh said in a now-viral post on X.
Walsh was responding to an interview Bondi did with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Monday where Bondi revealed that the Justice Department is considering charging retailer Office Depot after an employee allegedly refused a request to print flyers with Kirk’s face on them.
“The employee who didn’t print the flyer was already fired by his employer. This stuff is being handled successfully through free speech and free markets. This is totally gratuitous and pointless. We need the AG focused on bringing down the left wing terror cells, not prosecuting Office Depot for God’s sake,” said Walsh.
Get rid of her. Today. This is insane. Conservatives have fought for decades for the right to refuse service to anyone. We won that fight. Now Pam Bondi wants to roll it all back for no reason. Bondi attempted to clarify her use of the term “hate speech” and her department’s role in pursuing “hate speech” cases.
“Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over,” Bondi wrote on X.

Conservatives seems to believe that using the term “hate speech” could galvanize violent rhetoric from liberal activists.
This is the latest rift between Bondi and conservatives, including Megyn Kelly who called for Bondi to be fired over the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein saga.
Kelly blasted Bondi during a July episode of Sirius XM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” predicting that Bondi’s days in the Trump administration are “numbered” following public backlash over the DOJ’s report on Jeffrey Epstein.
While discussing criticism of Bondi’s work with the Epstein files, a guest on “The Megyn Kelly Show” asked whether Bondi’s previous media comments fueled the backlash.
“Just look at the influencer thing. Just take a step back,” Kelly said.
“What kind of an attorney general would pretend she’s giving new information to some of the president’s most loyal advocates in the press? You know, buying ink by the barrel. So either Pam Bondi knew she was about to embarrass some of his most loyal surrogates out there, and did that willingly, or she didn’t take the time to make sure what was in those binders. She was too lazy to actually figure out none of this is new.”
“And yet she called a meeting with the influencers that included Kash Patel the head of the FBI and the sitting vice president,” Kelly added.
“So she’s either lazy and incompetent or she willingly humiliated some of the president’s most loyal supporters. Neither one of those is good. And that’s why, I’m sorry, but I’m going to predict her days are numbered as a member of the Trump administration.”
