Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker said insider spies in the Trump administration are leaking classified information about upcoming immigration crackdowns to state officials.
Pritzker boasted that the illegal leaks from the Deep State were “well-sourced” during an MSNBC interview Friday.
The controversial Democratic governor told host Jen Psaki, the former spokeswoman for President Joe Biden, that his administration is receiving information about federal plans from employees within the White House and the military.
“There are a lot of patriotic Americans who work in the administration or work at the departments or in the military who have let us know things without having permission to do so,” Pritzker bragged on “The Briefing.”
Psaki asked about the scope of planned ICE operations, noting that the Department of War approved using a Naval base outside Chicago as a staging area for an illegal immigration crackdown.
“There’s also been reporting that the Defense Department has approved using a nearby Naval base north of the city as a staging area for ICE.”
“So, that is not separate, it’s all connected — and possibly to have that as a place where federal troops are. Do you have any sense, even, of the scope of the ICE operation that they’re planning?” Psaki asked.
Pritzker said he had no information directly from ICE but was being fed leaks through other channels.
“Not from ICE. We’re getting, again, it’s all secondhand, thirdhand. There are a lot of patriotic Americans who work in the administration or work at the departments or in the military who have let us know things without having permission to do so. And so, I would call some of that rumor, but well-sourced rumors,” the governor said.
The Illinois governor has been a vocal critic of Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown and has said Illinois will resist federal enforcement operations.
