Ongoing speculation about the physical health of former President Joe Biden escalated again this week after images of Biden surfaced showing a massive gash across his head, prompting new fears about his health.

Shocking footage shared on social media showed the now 82-year-old Biden dawning a noticeably red wound across the front of his head while leaving church in his home state of Delaware this past week.
“I was a little surprised ’cause it’s a noticeable scar,” Fred Karger, who filmed the video and shared it to X Tuesday, told Inside Edition, which first broke the news Thursday.

However, experts and members of Biden’s team confirm that the wound is not the result of any physical harm or fall, rather a preventative move to alleviate skin cancer.
A Biden rep told The New York Post the former president recently underwent Mohs surgery, a procedure used to treat skin cancer.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the surgery removes thin layers of skin one at a time, sparing the healthy tissue around it, until all cancerous cells are gone.
Biden previously had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his chest after a physical in February 2023, which turned out to be basal cell carcinoma.
While Biden’s latest procedure being somewhat benign, it continues to fuel speculation that Biden’s health has been deteriorating for a number of years.
Biden was also diagnosed in May with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer that has since spread to his bones.
Doctors found a “small nodule” on Biden’s prostate and other cancer cells during a medical exam — a Stage 4 diagnosis that went undetected and undisclosed by his medical team in the White House.
In late August, Biden was also captured exhibiting serious signs of physical decline while attending the funeral of former Delaware Gov. and Congressman Mike Castle.

Biden also made headlines earlier this summer when he delivered a speech at a Memorial Day event in Delaware, which at the time was his first since his personal office announced the former president’s prostate cancer diagnosis.
While quoting the Declaration of Independence, Biden trailed off before completing the final phrase, unable to finish reciting the most famous line.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal, endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable rights, life, liberty, pursuit of ha — we made it!” he shouted. “That’s who we are! That’s what makes America the most unique nation in the world. Literally, not figuratively.”
The actual line is: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Biden is continuing to undergo treatment for both prostate cancer and skin cancer, according to reports.
