President Donald Trump announced a federal takeover of Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to combat crime in the nation’s capital earlier this month, a whopping 212 arrests have occurred since the Trump-ordered crackdown.

Things have tightened up so much, even one of Fox News’ top stars was not immune the law.

Fox News host Bret Baier was pulled over and ticketed by a DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officer in a video that surfaced on social media yesterday.

According to Baier, the incident came about while he was driving his wife’s car — a white Mercedes-Benz G Wagon AMG, which is worth anywhere from around $175,000 to $350,000.

The now viral video shows Baier being pulled over by an officer, who appears to be handing him the ticket.

Baier responded to the incident via social media, even taking time to praise the efforts of the police.

“I picked up my ringing phone as I drove past an officer while driving my wife’s car in Georgetown,” Baier posted on X.

“He pointed to have me pull over- I did. He was very professional. I had to dig for the registration card. Got a ticket and left. I didn’t know there was paparazzi.”

Trump announced the takeover of DC’s law enforcement days after Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer Edward Coristine, known by the moniker “Big Balls,” was severely injured when he intervened to stop a mob from carrying out a carjacking.

Critics have been vocal against the move, saying that DC’s crime rates have been decreasing, despite accounts of violent crimes happening in the bustling areas of the district.

“ABC News Live” anchor Kyra Phillips, who reports out of the network’s Washington D.C. station, revealed a violent encounter she had with a “half-dressed” homeless man who mugged her downtown.

Phillips noted that many in the nation’s capital are experiencing crime “firsthand” despite what official statistics show.

“I can tell you firsthand here in downtown DC where we work, right here around our bureau, just in the past six months, you know, there were two people shot, one person died, literally two blocks down here from the bureau,” Phillips said.

“It was within the last two years that I actually was jumped walking just two blocks down from here,” she revealed.

“And then, just this morning, one of my co-workers said her car was stolen, a block away from the bureau,” Phillips added.

“We can talk about the numbers going down, but crime is happening every single day because we’re all experiencing it firsthand, working and living down here,” Phillips continued.

Phillips later described her encounter with the mugger as “scary as hell,” during a subsequent interview with DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro during the segment.
