A 1,000-pound “domesticated” bison that was allowed to roam in her owner’s Dallas-area home has moved on to

Bullet, a bison, walks through the hallway of her owner Karen Schoeve's home in Argyle, Texas on Friday, May 13, 2016. Bullet the bison was transported Saturday, May 14, 2016, from Schoeve's home in Argyle to her new home, a pasture which she will share with two cows, 15 miles away in Flower Mound. pastures new.

Bullet the bison was transported Saturday from Karen Schoeve’s home in Argyle to her new home, which she will share with two cows, 15 miles away in Flower Mound.

Schoeve says she was struggling to balance work and looking after Bullet and her two paint ponies, so she sold off the horses and two months ago advertised Bullet for sale on Craigslist for $5,960. She tells The Dallas Morning News she received several offers.

Schoeve describes Bullet as house-trained, although she sometimes tracks mud inside. She says the bison is “good hardy stock, but “not scary” and that she has “a great personality.”

A buffalo doesn’t belong in a house or residential neighborhood for a variety of reasons. This is the best example I’ve seen in a long time on the importance of zoning restrictions and building codes.

There are NO Buffalo in the US, they’re only in Asian countries. America has BISON! So anyway what’s your problem? It’s not your house, and the neighbors don’t belong in her home either. It’s nasty control freaks that make it difficult to survive daily life. If she has kept Bullet all this time, has housebroken her, she can do what she wants! Control Freaks not needed nor wanted!

A bison isn’t all that different from a horse, and until the dominance of motorcars, were quite common in cities of all sizes. I’ve even heard of one or two that were housebroken. Besides, nothing in this article specified how urban or rural her home was. National news feeds have this compulsion to describe places in reference to the closest major metropolitan area (We had a shooting recently in Antigo, which was described as “200 miles away from Milwaukee–apparently a population like Green Bay wasn’t big enough for a reference.)

And you do realize that traditional Norwegian houses are built on the upper level of their barns?

I’d take her as well in a heart beat, can’t imagine a better lawn mower nor a bigger more imposing sudo watch dog than a buffalo. I live on 5 acres with a coyote problem, if I had Bullet that would be one problem I could cross off the list…lol Plus I’ll bet she and my other critters would get on terrific especially the chickens.

Different strokes for different folks. Too bad we can’t just tend our own back yards or homes. Karen probably misses her pet Bison and I’ll bet Bullet misses her best friend. Blessings to both.
