Louisiana Senator John Kennedy faced a media feeding frenzy Tuesday after appearing to freeze during a Fox Business interview.
Kennedy, 73, suddenly paused during his interview with Larry Kudlow while discussing the Trump administration’s stance on sanctuary cities. The senator said “Jesus loves them, but everybody else thinks…” before stopping mid-sentence for several seconds.
Liberal outlets immediately pounced to question Kennedy’s mental state, with some suggesting health problems for the senior senator.

Kennedy’s office dismissed the concerns.
“The Daily Beast is wrong. Yesterday, during my interview with Larry Kudlow on Fox Business, there was a malfunction in my earpiece. I heard a loud screeching noise with a lot of static,” Kennedy claimed. “It sounded like a 747 taking off. The same thing happened with Rand Paul, who was interviewed before me. I stopped talking until the interference cleared up, and thought we were off the air.”
“Once I could hear Kudlow, I started talking again,” he said.
Host Larry Kudlow confirmed Kennedy’s explanation during the broadcast.
“I guess we had some more technical problems. That was the same mic we lost with Senator Rand Paul,” Kudlow said.
The rush to attack Kennedy’s mental fitness stands in stark contrast to how these same mainstream media outlets spent four years actively covering up Biden’s obvious cognitive decline.
While the elderly Kennedy faced immediate questions over a seven-second pause, Biden shuffled through his presidency, displaying clear signs of mental deterioration that the mainstream press ignored for years.
Biden regularly lost his train of thought mid-sentence, wandered off during public events, struggled to read teleprompters, fell regularly, and was clearly confused about basic facts.
Kennedy has shown no previous signs of the cognitive decline that became impossible to ignore with Biden.
The GOP senator called out the double-standard.
“All you have to do to get the facts is call Kudlow’s producer, which the Daily Beast intern clearly didn’t do,” he said.
