Adam Schiff’s mortgage fraud problem just got way worse

President Donald Trump escalated his attacks on Sen. Adam Schiff, D-C.A., Sunday night, accusing the California Democrat of falsifying loan documents and demanding he “pay the price of prison for a real crime.”

“Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff is in BIG TROUBLE! He falsified Loan Documents. He once said my son would go to prison on a SCAM that Schiff, along with other Crooked Dems, illegally ‘manufactured’ in order to stage an actual coup. My son did nothing wrong, knew nothing about the fictional story. It was an American Tragedy! Now Shifty should pay the price of prison for a real crime, not one made up by the corrupt accusers!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump first made the mortgage fraud allegations last Tuesday, when he claimed Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division had found evidence against Schiff.

“I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist. And now I learn that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud. Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA. I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as second home on October 13, 2020. Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice,” Trump wrote.

The accusations center on Schiff improperly declaring his Maryland house as his primary residence to obtain lower mortgage rates while serving as a California congressman. According to Trump, the fraud continued for over a decade until October 2020.

A Fannie Mae memo reviewed by the Los Angeles Times noted “a sustained pattern of possible occupancy misrepresentation” regarding which home Schiff and his wife listed as their primary residence on mortgage documents.

It is worth noting that the memo did not formally accuse Schiff of mortgage fraud or criminal activity.

Schiff responded to Trump’s accusations by calling them a “baseless attempt at political retribution.”

“Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason. So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at political retribution won’t stop me from holding him accountable,” Schiff said in response. “And much as Trump may hope, this smear will not distract from his Epstein files problem.”

While serving in the House of Representatives, Schiff took a leading role in investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election and played a key role in Trump’s first impeachment in 2019. Schiff has continued as one of Trump’s most vocal critics in D.C. since he moved to the Senate.
