President Donald Trump is filing a lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal after the publication ran what critics are calling a “hatchet job” story about a purported birthday letter from Trump to disgraced billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein that the White House says doesn’t exist.
The Wall Street Journal published an “exclusive” involving Trump and Epstein that centers on a “bawdy” birthday card allegedly sent by Trump to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003. Trump immediately denied having authored the note.
“This is not me,” Trump said. “This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”
Trump issued a statement via Truth Social that said he told the paper directly that the letter was fake and they would be sued if they printed it.
The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued. Mr. Murdoch stated that he would take care of it but, obviously, did not have the power to do so. The Editor of The Wall Street Journal, Emma Tucker, was told directly by Karoline Leavitt, and by President Trump, that the letter was a FAKE, but Emma Tucker didn’t want to hear that. Instead, they are going with a false, malicious, and defamatory story anyway President Trump will be suing The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Mr. Murdoch, shortly. The Press has to learn to be truthful, and not rely on sources that probably don’t even exist. President Trump has already beaten George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 Minutes/CBS, and others, and looks forward to suing and holding accountable the once great Wall Street Journal. It has truly turned out to be a ‘Disgusting and Filthy Rag’ and, writing defamatory lies like this, shows their desperation to remain relevant. If there were any truth at all on the Epstein Hoax, as it pertains to President Trump, this information would have been revealed by Comey, Brennan, Crooked Hillary, and other Radical Left Lunatics years ago. It certainly would not have sat in a file waiting for ‘TRUMP’ to have won three Elections. This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS!
Vice President JD Vance took to X to call out the article, using profanity:
“Forgive my language but this story is complete and utter bulls**t. The WSJ should be ashamed for publishing it. Where is this letter? Would you be shocked to learn they never showed it to us before publishing it? Does anyone honestly believe this sounds like Donald Trump?” Vance posted.
“Doesn’t it violate some rule of journalistic ethics to publish a letter like this without showing it to the victim of this hit piece? Will the people who have bought into every hoax against President Trump show an ounce of skepticism before buying into this bizarre story?”
NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo also criticized the Wall Street Journal story, calling it a “total hack job.”
“It’s so stupid,” Cuomo said. “The Epstein story is about abusing kids who didn’t have the power or agency to do anything about it, that rich and powerful people may have known it was going on, and they got away with it. It’s not that Trump liked a scumbag.”
“The letter is meaningless. You put out the piece anyway,” Cuomo said. “And there’s no light on what really matters.”
In recent days, Trump has been pushing for more transparency in the Epstein case, while also calling for supporters to drop the subject. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed “we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts” after Trump’s directive to declassify grand jury testimony.
However, grand jury secrecy rules are extremely strict and courts are reluctant to lift them, regardless of their political significance.
Epstein’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, is still appealing her conviction for conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors.
Rep. Dan Goldman, a former federal prosecutor, noted that grand jury testimony will largely relate only to Epstein and Maxwell and may exclude things like videos, photographs and FBI witness interview summaries.
The grand jury material represents only a small portion of the evidence the Justice Department has collected related to the Epstein investigation, which Bondi’s office has promised to completely declassify but failed to do for months.
