The FBI is investigating its own actions targeting President Donald Trump during previous Democratic administrations to determine whether they amount to a “grand conspiracy” — and were used to illegally influence U.S. elections.
The probe centers on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, which funded the faulty intelligence that led to the FBI’s investigation of Trump. The investigation was launched several weeks ago under FBI Director Kash Patel and could pave the way for a potential Trump-appointed special counsel to file criminal charges.
Trump has pledged to declassify critical intelligence documents to aid the explosive probe, which has been largely ignored by the mainstream media.
It’s not just Hillary Clinton that should be worried. The Trump administration’s investigation spans from the Clinton campaign’s false claims of Russian collusion in the 2016 elections all the way to former President Joe Biden’s administration’s classified documents case against Trump that led to his 2023 indictment.
“It was a disgrace what happened, what happened in 2016 and what happened in 2020. It’s a disgraceful situation,” Trump told Just the News. “And our voting has to be straightened out.”
Trump said he would assist the investigation by releasing at least two classified intelligence documents that expose Hillary Clinton’s central role in the alleged conspiracy.
The first document is an annex from former Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s review of the FBI’s probe into Clinton’s email scandal, which reportedly shows that then-FBI director James Comey ignored evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Clinton.
The second document concerns Special Counsel John Durham’s report titled the “Clinton Plan Intelligence,” which reveals that U.S. intelligence believed Clinton approved a plan in 2016 to fabricate a Trump-Russia collusion narrative. Durham’s 2023 report found the federal probe relied on faulty intelligence and was politically motivated to benefit Clinton’s presidential campaign.
The investigation centers on how Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee funded the Steele dossier. Federal officials under former President Barack Obama began investigating claims that Trump colluded with Russia to win the presidency based on this now-discredited opposition research.
The probe involved multiple attempts to surveil Trump and his 2016 campaign, and former Special Counsel John Durham later found it to be completely factually baseless .
Ahead of the 2020 election, the FBI primed social media platforms to censor content about Hunter Biden’s laptop as so-called Russian disinformation. Republicans have long claimed that the FBI’s actions were meant to improperly sway the election in favor of Biden’s campaign.
Conservatives have also accused the Biden administration’s law enforcement officials of interfering in the 2024 election by waging unprecedented prosecutions of Trump on charges of mishandling classified documents. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith dropped his cases in November 2024 after Trump won reelection.
Fox News previously reported that Trump’s FBI is criminally investigating former intelligence community leaders involved in driving the Trump-Russia probe.
