President Donald Trump just achieved one of the most historic accomplishments of any Republican president—and, as usual, the liberal media didn’t report it.
But Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her Democratic Party allies are preparing for an eye rolling boycott to try and stop it.
Since taking office just over six months ago, President Trump has not just put America First, he’s put American workers first—the middle class.
The average person who has been ignored, marginalized, and stepped on by D.C.’s Uniparty establishment for at least a generation is finally standing back up.
Part of Trump’s historic accomplishment has come from making the Republican Party the working class party.
His “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which he signed on July 4, has exempted most of our senior citizens from paying income tax.
It gave American workers the ability to collect overtime pay without having to give Uncle Sam a cut.
And President Trump came up with the policy of letting employees collect tips tax-free.
Exempting gratuities from the income tax — a policy that came out of nowhere when he had a casual conversation with a waitress — seemed like such a good policy that Kamala Harris tried to steal it in the 2024 election.
Unfortunately for her, the American people saw through the Democratic Party’s elitism and the lies of their billionaire backers.
Trump put the GOP firmly on the side of Main Street America—and as president, he’s repaid the trust hourly workers and people living on the margins put in him last November.
The Democrats, on the other hand, just decided to punish the American people for kicking them out of power.
Liberal Democrats aren’t giving young people waiting on tables tax-free tips; in fact, they are trying to make sure they get no money at all.
Democratic Party elitists decided to throw in their lot with union fat cats’ plan to take the food right out of restaurant employees’ mouths.
A D.C.-based labor union, UNITE HERE Local 25, has called on all the entire population of Washington, D.C., to boycott six restaurants in our nation’s capital because their workers refuse to sign up with the unions.
Naturally, Ocasio-Cortez quickly joined up — even though the former bartender regularly brags that she used to work for tips.
To make matters worse, it’s not just AOC. It’s the entire Democratic Party power structure in Washington.
“Dozens of House and Senate Democrats have signed (the) pledge” to starve out America’s waiters and waitresses if they refuse to join a union, Axios reported — the same union that gives millions of dollars in union dues to Democrats every election cycle.
Supposed workers’ champions such as former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., also signed the boycott pledge, according to Fox News.
“A boycott of any kind can result in lost hours, wages, and tips that our hardworking employees rely upon,” said a representative for a local Washington eatery called STARR.
Worse yet, the supposed reason for the boycott is erroneous. UNITE HERE 25, claims D.C.’s waiters and servers are desperate for union fat-cats to tap into their tips for its union dues.
“Workers are calling for D.C. customers to boycott these restaurants, asking the public not to eat, meet or drink at these locations,”claims UNITE HERE’s boycott pledge, obtained by the left-wing website Axios. The District of Columbia’s “workers have endured months of union busting,” it says.
But nobody in the restaurant business seems to have the least bit of interest in unionizing. “To the best of our knowledge, a majority of Le Diplomate employees have no interest in engaging in that process nor in being represented by a union,” the STARR representative said.
“It is unfortunate that an organization that claims to want to represent the employees of Le Diplomate would call for an action that would harm them.”
But the harms have piled up on the broken backs of the restaurant industry and its workers.
“D.C. restaurants and bars lost nearly 5 percent of industry employment since the law went into effect, even though the rest of the District’s industries gained jobs,” reported Michael Saltsman of the Employment Policies Institute. “Employees also lost out on $11.8 million in earnings because of this law.”
As bad as these figures are, President Trump knows they represent more than just numbers; these statistics show real people’s suffering.
A few of the people stripped of cash and opportunity by the law made their voices heard to the local D.C. government.
“Since Initiative 82…I’m now making up to 50 percent less,” said a bartender named Laura.
Yana, a D.C.-area server, said thanks to the policy, her “working hours were cut by five to 10 hours per week.”
Democratic Rep. Greg Casar of Texas, the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said the boycott would give the American people some “concrete examples” of what they can expect under left-wing policies.
The boycott perfectly tells workaday Americans what they can expect if Democratic policies have their way: less money, fewer hours, closed workplaces, and no food in their own homes.
America’s workers, who just woke up to the Republican Party when President Trump entered politics, now see they have a clear choice: The Trump Republicans want to give them tax-free tips. The out-of-touch Democrats want to keep them from earning any tips at all.
Here’s a tip to the wise: Vote accordingly.
