America’s Worst Mayor’s press conference erupts into all-out brawl

A town hall meeting erupted into chaos Tuesday night when Dolton, Illinois’ Democratic Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s boyfriend attacked a critic, sparking a massive brawl that saw the so-called “Worst Mayor in America” lose both her wig and shoe as she joined the wild melee.

The fight broke out after activist Jedidiah Brown launched an aggressive tirade against Henyard, accusing her of “sleeping her way to the top” and being a “half-a**ed mayor” before ending with “You gone, b***h!”

“Thank you for the lawsuit,” Henyard shot back before her boyfriend Kamal Woods – who earned six figures a year after being hired by Henyard to run the town’s youth program – charged at Brown as he walked away.

Multiple witnesses described a chaotic scene as the brawl intensified, with television monitors getting smashed and people jumping on tables. Henyard herself was thrown to the floor after pushing aside her table to join in the fistfight.

“I have never seen a politician jump in and fight like that – it was scary and horrible. It is an embarrassment,” attendee Meghan Dudek told The Daily Mail.

The melee came just one day after former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot revealed findings from her investigation into Henyard’s alleged mismanagement of taxpayer funds.

The 73-page report detailed a wild spending spree, which $779,638 charged by the mayor’s office to town credit cards in 2023 alone — including luxury Las Vegas trips and $43,000 spent on Amazon in a single day.

“At least as early as late 2021, there was a concerted, systematic effort on behalf of Mayor Henyard and others in her administration to hide the true financial condition of the Village of Dolton from the trustees and from members of the public,” Lightfoot told residents Monday.

The town meeting itself was called to reinstate insurance policies that had left residents without social services for over a month. During the meeting, trustees voted to place Woods and his ally William Moore on immediate paid administrative leave pending investigation into their positions.

No arrests were reported as police said all participants fled before officers arrived. Brown was later seen live-streaming himself attempting to file a police report.

The incident adds to mounting troubles for Henyard, who lost her Democratic nomination for Thornton Township supervisor in December. She claimed “voter suppression” caused the loss and promised legal action to remain on the April ballot.

Under Henyard’s leadership, Dolton’s $5.61 million budget surplus in April 2022 transformed into a $3.65 million deficit by May 2024, according to Lightfoot’s investigation. The report also revealed missing COVID relief funds and over $7,000 charged to the town for Henyard’s hair and makeup team, listed as “assistant” costs.
