Americans know a Walmart when they see one.
But in a surprise move, the retail giant announced a ‘comprehensive brand refresh’ in a January 13 press release, including its first logo redesign in 17 years.
However, consumers are now confused with the move, and blatently questioning the validity of the so-called “new” logo.
Despite the fanfare of a new re-brand, critics on social couldn’t help but notice its shocking resemblance to the old logo.

The old logo featured a sunburst design with six rays representing the chain’s core values.
The new logo is essentially the same design, but features thicker rays and sharper coloring.
But the move set off a slew of online, snarky comments, who said that the person in behind the redesign made off like a thief.
