Fox News Channel just announced a shakeup to their weekday lineup following the departure of longtime anchor Neil Cavuto.
Will Cain will officially take over Fox News Channel’s 4:00 p.m. EST time slot on Monday through Friday after Cavuto’s unexpected December departure, the network announced Monday.
“It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years and I am thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon,” Cain said.
Cain joined Fox News in 2020 after working as a radio host and ESPN contributor. The lawyer previously served as a CNN analyst and host conservative news website The Blaze.
His new program debuts January 21, leading into “The Five,” Fox’s highest-rated show.
The weekday program marks a significant promotion at the popular cable news network, where such slots rarely open. Cain will bring elements from his continuing weekday podcast, including extended interviews, moving away from Cavuto’s business focus.
Charles Hurt will replace Cain on “Fox & Friends Weekend” alongside Rachel Campos-Duffy starting Saturday. Hurt will step down as opinion editor at The Washington Times before starting the role.
Prior to the 2024 election, Cain co-hosted weekend mornings with Pete Hegseth, now Secretary of Defense-designate, and Campos-Duffy, whose husband Sean Duffy received President-elect Trump’s nomination for Transportation Secretary.
Cain’s move isn’t the only lineup change coming to the regular Fox News listings. The cable news channel also announced Dagen McDowell will join an expanded two-hour version of “The Big Money Show” airing 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST weekdays beginning January 27.
Weekend programs “The Fox Report” and “The Big Weekend Show” will expand to two hours starting Saturday.
Cavuto left Fox News December 19 after nearly 30 years when the parties failed to reach a new contract agreement.
