Liz Cheney named “Politician of the Year”!?

Former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney’s cataclysmic fall from grace within the Republican Party apparently hasn’t scared people away from recognizing Cheney for her efforts.

That’s because one notable political contributor and insider has officially named Cheney as his “Politician of the Year”, despite not even sitting in Congress anymore.

It may sound like a joke, but it’s not.

Fox News political analyst Juan Williams just named Cheney his “Politician of the Year.”

While of course an unofficial “award”, Williams has doled out this award for those “who had the greatest impact on American politics,” according to Williams.

Last year, the winner was former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who per Williams “succeeded in paralyzing the House for much of that year.”

However, Williams dubbed Cheney the winner in a column penned by The Hill.

In his op-ed, Williams compared Cheney to Joan of Arc and states she should be remembered “due to her heroic sacrifice, already the stuff of political legend.”

“The former congresswoman soared sky-high above politics-as-usual in Washington by taking a principled stand that cost her power, friends and the money that comes with status in the capital,” Williams wrote.

“Like a living Joan-of-Arc, she defiantly rejected orders from the rich and powerful to close her eyes to all wrongdoing and get in line up behind Trump.”

Ironically, data found that despite campaigning with Kamala Harris in an effort to woo independent voters, many independents were turned off by the move.

A left-leaning Data for Progress poll showed independent voters in Michigan and Pennsylvania declaring they were “less enthusiastic” to vote for Kamala after she campaigned alongside Cheney.

RedState’s Adam Turner also noted that Cheney was unquestionably the “Republican leader in the ‘Trump is the devil’ campaign,” making her a natural fit for the Harris campaign, but even the vice president’s closest advisors recognized she was an albatross and “chose to end her campaign.”

Cheney’s political career came to an end after being defeated in her primary by nearly 40 percent after representing Wyoming’s at-large congressional district from 2017 to 2023.
