Olympics scandal erupts thanks to viral Emmanuel Macron photo

The Summer Olympics feel like they just started.

But there’s already been plenty of chaos and drama — and none of it is happening with the participating athletes.

The Summer Olympics have already drawn widespread criticism with an opening ceremony performance that included what appeared to be a recreation of Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, with a twist. The performance featured prominent drag queens, and was blasted for being demonic and blasphemous.

It was also rumored that there might not be enough protein for athletes to eat during the games.

Needless to say, there’s been plenty of drama happening in Paris.

Now enter a new twist involving French President Emmanuel Macron and the country’s sports minister (who just so happens to be a former athlete).

Awkward photos showing Macron sharing an “intimate” moment with his sports minister during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony are spreading across the internet — with many social media users comparing the PDA display to a lovers’ embrace.

The photo shows Macron, 46, tightly gripping the arm of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, 46, a former professional tennis player who is the country’s minister of sports.

Oudéa-Castéra in turn clutches Macron’s bicep with one hand, the other wrapped affectionately around his neck while planting a kiss on the French leader’s neck.

Oudéa-Castéra has been front and center as the first Olympics in France in 100 years has come to life.

According to the New York Post, earlier this month she took a swim in the Seine River to dispel fears of unsafe E.coli levels in the famous waterway, where several events are scheduled to take place during the games.

A pre-race triathlon event in it was canceled Sunday over water quality concerns.

The Post also reported that Macron named Oudéa-Castéra France’s education minister in January, but removed her from the role after less than a month following revelations that she had her children educated at posh private schools and made disparaging remarks about public schools where she lived.

As for there “curious” embrace? You be the judge on if it was inappropriate.
