At his press conference on Wednesday night, President Joe Biden “very well could” announce his retirement, former deputy national security adviser KT McFarland said Wednesday. McFarland served under former President Donald Trump’s White House in 2017.

McFarland was asked about the potential for Biden’s resignation on Newsmax’ “Wake Up America” amid growing speculation on social media.

Users on X, formerly known as Twitter, began speculating that a resignation was imminent after D.C. residence noticed extra barricades going up around the White House a few hours before Biden’s national address.

Biden has avoided cameras for a week since coming down with COVID-19 and made his announcement he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race via Tweet.

There’s been speculation that Biden’s illness is much more serious than a mild case of COVID — with some conservative journalists reporting that the 46th president suffered a major medical emergency while in Las Vegas last week.

Others have gone so far as to suggest Biden has recently gotten a terminal disease diagnosis that he’s keeping under wraps.

The speculation comes as numerous Republican lawmakers have come forward to demand Biden admit he’s suffering from cognitive decline and immediately resign his position from the White House.

McFarland wants to know if Biden will face legal charges if he resigns… and if so, who will pay the legal bills.

“If Joe Biden leaves, there’ll probably be a lot of legal cases against him from the states,” McFarland said.” “Who’s going to pay those 10s, 20s, millions of legal fees?”

Regardless of his health condition, McFarland predicted Biden will pardon his entire family — including himself — before leaving office in 2021.

“It’s not very attractive, but it’s pretty practical when you think of the alternatives,” McFarland said.

“Then there’s a constitutional question. Can he pardon himself? If he cannot pardon himself, then is a deal cooked up?”
