Musk has been consistently against President Joe Biden and has publicly shown his support for Trump across social media, particularly when he chose to reinstate the ex-president’s X account the same month he bought Twitter.
Musk has already donated a “sizeable amount” of money to America PAC, the total of which has not yet been disclosed.
The group is reportedly focused on rallying support for Trump in swing states to counter ground covered by the Democrats through “get out the vote” campaigns.
The Wall Street Journal report stated that other backers include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, the chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners.
The coalition has so far spent at least $6.6 million on behalf of Trump.
According to its website, America PAC encourages visitors to “register to vote” and “make a plan to vote early in person or by mail.”
“Vote and have your say if America can be a land of freedom and opportunity for all. We can have the greatest election victory in America’s history when you vote!” text on the website reads.
