Is the discovery of a payment from James Biden to then-former Vice President Joe Biden in 2018 for $200,000 the smoking gun link that the president was directly involved in his families foreign business practices?
“Where is the money? Joe Biden asked reporters in September when pressed about his involvement in son Hunter and brother, James’, numerous businesses.
Republicans say they may have found some of it in the form of the $200,000 payment.
“A document that we’re releasing today raises new questions about how President Biden personally benefited from his family’s shady influence peddling of his name and their access to him,” Republican Rep. James Comer said Friday.
“Bank records obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability have revealed a $200,000 direct payment from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden in the form of a personal check,” Comer said.
Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, R-G.A., said the checks existence shows Biden is a “proven liar.”
“This also means Joe Biden is a criminal and should face criminal charges and should go to jail,” Greene claimed.

Comer believes the $200,000 payment is shady because the money centers around a distressed entity that loaned James Biden $600,000.
In turn, James Biden cut Joe Biden a $200,000 check. Comer, a former bank board member of a local bank, said Friday he has no evidence of the loan agreement between the two brothers, which would show Joe Biden agreed to pay James Biden back.
James Biden contends that Comer has bank documents that show Joe Biden lent James Biden money in January 2018, six weeks before James Biden cut Joe Biden a check for $200,000. He also denied the financial arrangement was a business relationship.
