These two John Fetterman videos are deeply concerning

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., suffered a near-fatal stroke while campaigning last year, causing serious brain damage that has left him struggling with speech.

Fetterman said at a debate in October, “I do support fracking and — I don’t, I don’t, I support fracking and I stand and I do support fracking,”

Almost a year later, two strange videos of Fetterman have raised eyebrows over his continued language difficulties.

Earlier this month, Fetterman delivered a garbled message in support of the United Auto Workers’ strike.

“My message to the, the CEOs, CEOs is, you know, it’s $74 million, you know, collectively earning that, you know, how many yachts can they need, you know, to, to yacht, to water, uh, ski behind it, you know, I mean, it’s, it’s crazy. You know, I don’t, my message,” Fetterman said in a video with 2.7 million views.

Fetterman didn’t fare much better during his interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Monday.

He spoke to the liberal MSNBC host about negotiating a spending bill to avoid a federal shutdown… without using so many words.

“On the other, the House, the whatever they call themselves Team America or whatever they call themselves, bring your vote otherwise they need to go hump a different leg,” Fetterman said. “You know, truly, I was very proud of my colleagues, because they’re about governance, and that’s what it is.”

With the term “Team America,” Fetterman was presumably trying to refer to the House Freedom Caucus, a group known for its willingness to force a shutdown and for its opposition to the current draft of the bill.

Chris Hayes, rather than asking Fetterman to clarify, proceeded to ask the senator a softball question about his car.

What’s more, Fetterman on Monday accused conservatives of “losing their mind” over the recent changes to the Senate’s dress code.

The Pennsylvania senator has worn gym clothes to work.

“DeSantis, he doesn’t, you know — I dress the way he campaigns,” Fetterman told Hayes. “Aren’t there more important things that she should be talking about than if I dress like a slob?”

If Fetterman is uttering nonsense phrases like “$74 million… to yacht to water ski behind it,” then he’s living in a glass house.

Truly inspirational!
