Dumped? Karine Jean-Pierre is now a single mom

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is now a single mom who is co-parenting her adopted daughter with her former partner, she announced during an interview with Vogue.

Jean-Pierre and former CNN star Suzanne Malveaux ended their 11-year relationship recently. They are sharing custody of their nine-year-old daughter.

She did not tell the magazine what caused their breakup, or when it happened.

“I’m a single mom who is co-parenting this amazing kid,” Jean-Pierre told the magazine. “Our number-one priority is her privacy and to make sure we create an environment that’s nurturing.”

Malveaux and Jean-Pierre met at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and moved in together in 2014. Malveaux had already started the adoption process when the two started dating; Jean-Pierre adopted the girl a year later.

“We met at a donor party being held in a nightclub,” Jean-Pierre wrote in her book “Moving Forward” in 2019. “I know it’s a cliche, but the truth is, I spotted her across a crowded dance floor.”

Vogue’s interview with Jean-Pierre was described by critics as “fawning.” She is the third woman featured from the Biden administration.

The magazine had previously interviewed First Lady Jill Biden, as well as Jean-Pierre’s predecessor Jen Psaki.

Vogue never featured former First Lady Melania Trump despite her work as a model and fashion leader.

“They’re biased and they have likes and dislikes, and it’s so obvious,” Melania said previously about the snub. “And I think American people and everyone sees it. It was their decision, and I have much more important things to do — and I did in the White House — than being on the cover of Vogue.”
