Conservative activist Tucker Carlson made a big 2024 presidential announcement that sent shockwaves across the Republican primary this week.

Carlson is hosting five of the top GOP hopefuls in the first Republican presidential forum with The Blaze TV, former Fox News host Glenn Beck’s news organization on Friday, July 14.

Joining Carlson on the stage will be some of the top GOP front-runners: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former Vice President Mike Pence, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

🚨BIG NEWS: 🚨

Blaze Media is teaming up with THE FAMiLY LEADER to bring you the first presidential forum of the 2024 Republican Primary season, hosted by Tucker Carlson. We’ll be live streaming this event all day Friday, July 14th on BlazeTV and the BlazeTV YouTube channel. pic.twitter.com/YdqAfoX0VR

Notably absent is the clear leader of the 2024 Republican primary, former President Donald Trump. Trump commands a staggering 30-point lead over the field.

Trump declined the forum’s invitation, and his campaign claimed there was a scheduling conflict.

Rather than go on Carlson’s forum, Trump made his own move: He’ll be appearing on a Fox News town hall the next day.

Sean Hannity will be hosting Trump on Fox News Channel on July 18. The town hall will be prerecorded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that day and will premier on the network at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

Hannity hosted a similar Iowa town hall on June 1.

The move carries deeper significance than just the Republican primary. Since firing Tucker Carlson, Fox News has struggled with low primetime ratings.

In an effort to revitalize the network, Fox News recently announced a primetime revamp… set to debut July 17.

At the same exact time Carlson scheduled the 2024 GOP presidential forum will be broadcast on his popular Twitter account.

The very next day, Trump is set to return to Fox News primetime.
