Kasich: Count on a brokered convention

Ohio Gov. John Kasich made an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday with conservative talk show host Sean Hannity, and spoke on the possibility of a brokered Republican convention.

When asked about his possible path to the White House, Kasich stated that he believed the Republican presidential nominee would be decided at a brokered convention — and that it could be him chosen.

Hannity asked Kasich directly, “You think it’s going to be a brokered convention?”

“I do,” replied Kasich, who predicted his win in Ohio would make it highly unlikely any candidate could win the 1,237 delegates necessary to secure the GOP nomination before the July 2016 Republican presidential convention in Cleveland.

Kasich currently trails Republican frontrunner Donald Trump by 2.5% in Ohio, according to recent polls.

“What do you say to people who support rivals — I won’t mention any names — let’s say candidate A is close, candidate B is significantly behind,” Hannity asked. “Will candidate A supporters be angry if he doesn’t win?”

“You have to do it right,” Kasich clarified, before stating that his only fear of a brokered convention is that it would be taken over by the establishment.

“Could you think of anything cooler than a [brokered] convention?” said Kasich.

Ignore tens of millions of American voters? Nothing but brown shirts. If the GOP has it’s way, Rubio will be congratulating Hillary by 10 pm on November 1st.

Agree, when DC is full of self-serving elitist’s, there is no difference between GOP and DEM in that special group.

      John Kasich keeps preaching about being the instrumental “Architect” behind FED balanced budget, working with Reagan, both sides of the aisle, and giving Pentagon advice to end Cold War… WELL, if Kasich wants to associate himself with Reagan, Clinton, Bush, etc., then lets look at those Reagan years as an INSIGHT TO KASICH. Reagan years (although Reagan is respected and Americans felt good about themselves at the time);

      1) History reports only 1 tax cut for Americans working through Congress in Reagans 1st year. After that there were 7 consecutive tax hikes across the board.

      2) Yes – Reagan achieved peace through Strength in the Military, but that broke the bank and the debt rose significantly through spending.

      3) Reagan years proved to be the first Presidency where the deficit would never be covered, and debt grew substantially and began what is not a $19 Trillion plus debt.

      4) With Kasich proudly claiming he was working both sides of aisle when he was in DC, Legislative bills to bulk up the FED social programs going to States and FED levels began the ramp up and accelerated through the next few Presidents where we now have over $200 Trillion in obligations coming up. Can we say GREECE?
      5) Reagan and Legislative Brach gave AMNESTY to millions of illegals – and NEVER TIGHTENED BORDER SECURITY. We all know too well what happened after that disaster.
YET JOHN “I was once was a Lehman Brothers Banking exec” KASICH claims he is conservative — and proud GOP Establishment guy…..I have no use for someone like that; YOURE FIRED!

Yeah–Kasich took MILLIONS from Lehman Bros. when they were on the way down. He seems to have been a reasonably competent governor of Ohio. Of course, now that oil shale revenues are WAAAAAY down, it may not look so rosy there in the very near future. Maybe that’s why he wants to go back to D.C.

I’d rather get the death of America over quickly…SO COME HAVE AT IT HILLIARY…because I am not going to be had ever again. Believe me…there are plenty more of me out there.

BTW..please google Ted Cruz…he is a shill for the Bushes. Get that out there. He is part of the Cartel as he calls it…not apart from.

So far the entire campaign is rubbish, both sides. So much attention has been given to the “front runner” hardly any ideas from the others were heard. The childish” debates?” by the so called front three is a total embarrassment to the entire country. If all they can offer the people is calling each other names, we are in for a terribly rough four years. May it not be the downfall of the country. The other side hasn’t been much better, but at least you hear a bit about where they stand and some of their ideas. The choice there is socialist or establishment. As far as Kasich goes, he at least has not entered into the very, very, very bad behavior of the front three in trying to outdo each others insults. He has tried to say where he stands, as has Carson, and the others that dropped out. Did any one actually hear any of them? This entire election is a farce and the people will eventually pay the price.
