In shocker, Dem U.S. Senator to switch to GOP!?

Sen. Krysten Sinema, D-Ariz., is a moderate Democratic Party leader that has frequently gone against her party’s far-left slide.

Now one close advisor to former President Donald Trump is predicting that Sinema may soon join the Republican Party.

Former White House chief strategist and conservative activist Steve Bannon predicted Sinema will join the GOP in 2024 when Republicans retake control of the U.S. Senate, which is currently split 50-50 between the two parties.

“Senator Sinema is looking downrange at the ‘24 cycle when the Republicans will only increase the majority they win in the Senate in ‘22 …the ‘24 cycle is that strong — watch her switch parties or go ‘independent’ and caucus with the Majority,” Bannon posted on his social media account.

He pointed out that Sinema was “cozying up to” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and the Kentucky leader was clearly recruiting the Arizona senator.

McConnell recently hosted Sinema at an event at his alma mater, the University of Louisville. The two heaped praise on each other, despite their political differences.

“I’ve only known Kyrsten for four years, but she is, in my view … the most effective first-term senator I’ve seen,” he said at the time.

He praised Sinema’s work on the bipartisan infrastructure bill and said she “right in the middle of, if not the principal leader” in negotiations between Republicans and Democrats.

“As you can tell, I have a very high opinion of the senator from Arizona,” McConnell said. He also praised her defense of the filibuster that Republicans have used to stop President Joe Biden’s ambitious, multi-trillion dollar spending plans.

“But my biggest compliment to her is that she protects the institution of the Senate.”

Sinema returned the praise at the event. She said, “Despite our apparent differences, Sen. McConnell and I have forged a friendship. One that is rooted in our commonalities, including our pragmatic approach to legislating and our respect for the Senate as an institution.”
