Liz Warren gets a brutal new nickname

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., built her liberal reputation on economic bailouts after the 2008 financial crisis… but lately she’s been going after individual billionaires over Twitter.

She took issue with Time magazine’s choice for Person of the Year: Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Warren tweeted Monday, “Let’s change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else.”

Musk hit back, “Stop projecting!”

He linked to a Fox News Opinion article called, “Elizabeth Warren is a fraud — Her lies about being Native American disqualify her from presidency, Senate.”

“You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason,” Musk went on. “Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen.”

A “Karen” refers to a demanding, entitled white woman. The term gained popularity after the actor Chadwick Boseman used it on Saturday Night Live in 2018.

Musk also said, “If you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year… Don’t spend it all at once … oh wait you did already.”

In 2020, Warren has called for a tax on illiquid assets over $50 million. In other words, she wants to tax Musk’s unrealized wealth — which may force him to sell shares of the company he owns just because the company gained value.

Other far-left Democrats also slammed Musk over Twitter.

Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., wrote, “It’s *TIME* for Elon Musk to pay his fair share in taxes.”

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, wrote, “A billionaire who has been found guilty of illegal union-busting by [the National Labor Relations Board] should probably not be @TIME’s Person of the Year.

Musk paid $68,000 in federal income taxes in 2015 and $65,000 in 2017, according to a June report by ProPublica. He reportedly paid no federal income taxes in 2018.

Still, the Democrats have been chanting, “Tax the rich.” They sloganeer about class struggle in politics, and yet they focus their ire on a handful of individual people, like Musk.
