Fox News host Laura Ingraham discussed the television industry on Tuesday. She went viral for her apparent confusion about You, a horror-thriller series on Netflix.
Twitter users found humor in Ingraham’s confusion… although a Fox spokesperson later described Ingraham’s performance as scripted.
On live TV, Ingraham was speaking with the journalist Raymond Arroyo, a frequent guest of hers. Arroyo was slamming “the politics and all the woke storylines in so many shows.”
Then, they discussed You:
ARROYO: You know I was watching an episode of You where measles came up, and–
INGRAHAM: Wait. Wait. Wait. When did I mention measles?
ARROYO: I don’t know. It was on You.
INGRAHAM: What? What was on me? What are you talking about? Raymond, are you even hearing what I’m saying? I never had the measles.
ARROYO: The measles and the vaccine episode was on You.
INGRAHAM: We never did a measles and vaccine episode. Is this a joke?… I give up.
ARROYO: It’s a show called You on Netflix.
INGRAHAM: There’s a show called Laura Ingraham on Netflix?
The two of them proceeded in this comical fashion for about one minute.

Twitter users compared it to, “Who’s on First,” a routine from the comedy duo Abbott and Costello. Some users also speculated about the video’s authenticity.
The star of You, Penn Badgley, tweeted on Tuesday. “It’s gotta be a bit. Dude is committed, he actually made me lol, but watch how he waits for her to cut him off.”
MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan tweeted, “This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on live TV. Part of me refuses to believe it’s real and it must be a ‘bit’ but…no…this happened.”

Finally, Arroyo himself described the performance as “intentional” via Twitter on Wednesday.
Fox News was tapped by Insider for comment. Carly Shanahan, Fox’s public relations director, referred Insider to Arroyo’s tweet.
It looks as if Arroyo broke character after all!
Trust me, it was totally intentional! 🤣 https://t.co/IqhPQJOTgU
