Former President Donald Trump predicted there is a lot more legal drama in the future for the Democratic Party — and recent charges filed by special counsel John Durham involving the debunked Steele dossier, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and the Russian investigation are “just the early building blocks.”
The investigation is “only going to get deeper and deeper” and the evidence will “all lead back to the Democrats,” Trump predicted.
“It really has come out,” Trump said Monday during an interview with Fox News. “In all fairness, while it has taken a long time, hats off to John Durham.”
“Hats off, because, it’s coming out, and it is coming out at a level… Durham has come out with things that are absolutely amazing. We all sort of knew that happened.”
“Now we have facts, and I think they’re only going to get deeper and deeper,” Trump predicted. “And it all leads back to the Democrats, Hillary and the dirty lawyers.”
Trump isn’t the only one making bold predictions. Former Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, said it all leads straight to the Hillary Clinton campaign — and a lot of criminal charges will be filed before it’s done.
Ratcliffe said he expects “many indictments” will come from the Durham investigation.
“When I became the director of national intelligence [in 2020], I said ‘Listen, I want to see all of the intelligence about this supposed Russian collusion,’ and what I found was … no Russian collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia,” he said. “But what I did see in intelligence documents, some of which I’ve now declassified, that there was collusion involving the Clinton campaign and Russians to create a dossier.”
“Igor Danchenko is the third person to be criminally indicted in connection with the Steele dossier for peddling something that was known to be false to the FBI,” Ratcliffe told Fox News‘ Maria Bartiromo on Sunday.
“But what’s important here is [then-CIA Director] John Brennan’s own notes reflect — and the other documents that I declassified show — that our intelligence community and our FBI knew this ahead of time,” he said. “That Hillary Clinton, we had specific intelligence that Hillary Clinton was creating a plan to vilify Donald Trump. To falsely accuse him of ties to Russia, and the intelligence community and FBI knew this.”
“President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were briefed.”
Trump has remained front and center in the Republican Party since leaving office in January. He teased Fox News earlier this week with another hint that he’s planning to run in 2024.
“I am certainly thinking about it and we’ll see,” he told Fox News on Monday. “I think a lot of people will be very happy, frankly, with the decision, and probably will announce that after the midterms.”
Trump said the timeline was “probably appropriate” but “it doesn’t mean I will” stick to that timeline.
“It’s probably appropriate, but a lot of people are waiting for that decision to be made,” Trump said.
The 45th president said, “A lot of great people who are thinking about running are waiting for that decision, because they’re not going to run if I run.”
