Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign was derailed by the FBI investigation into her illegal email server.
Could President Joe Biden’s first term be heading for the same fate?
According to The Daily Mail, Biden may have been ensnared by emails linking him to his son’s alleged tax evasion being investigated by the FBI.
The emails reportedly show that Joe and Hunter shared bank accounts, working business deals together, paid each other’s expenses… and the president may have even covered the $25,000 bill for one of Hunter’s suspected drug-fueled prostitution binges at the famous Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.
Hunter has been under investigation for possible income tax violations since December. According to reports, he could also face up to 10 years in prison over an illegal handgun.
If money was freely exchanged between Hunter and his father, the investigation may reach all the way to the White House, an expert told the Daily Mail.
Emails recovered by DailyMail.com from Hunter’s abandoned laptop between Hunter and Eric Schwerin, his business partner at consultancy Rosemont Seneca, show Schwerin was working on Joe’s taxes, discussing the father and son paying each other’s household bills, and even fielding requests for a book deal for the then-vice president, as well as managing the donation of Joe’s senate papers to the University of Delaware.
It is unclear why Schwerin had this intimate role in the vice president’s affairs rather than government officials in the Office of the Vice President.
The FBI and IRS probe was launched in 2018, the year before the elder Biden announced his candidacy for president. Hunter Biden confirmed the existence of the investigation in December.
“I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,” he said in a statement at the time.
It’s just the latest scandal surrounding the first son’s business dealings.
While his father was vice president, Hunter joined the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma in 2014, sparking concerns about the potential conflict of interest involving U.S. foreign policy toward Ukraine.
At the height of the 2020 presidential election, a forgotten laptop of Hunter’s was discovered in Delaware implicating the Biden family in numerous potential crimes and shady dealings, but the story was censored by Big Tech and the mainstream media.
Despite the emails, Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any role in his son’s business dealings.
