House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a bold statement on Thursday during an interview at Cambridge University on Thursday.
She practically guaranteed that former President Donald Trump would lose if he ran in the 2024 election.
Despite President Joe Biden’s rapidly collapsing poll ratings, Pelosi mocked Trump voters and said there was no chance the 45th president would win another term.
Pelosi also talked about impeachment and congratulated her Democratic Party allies for bringing Trump to trial, despite twice failing to get a conviction.
“Near-term review will show magnificent presentations on the part of our presenters,” she said. “Impeachment in itself is a penalty.”
She said that no matter what, Trump will always “be impeached. Twice.”
“I don’t ever talk about him,” Pelosi continued. “I mean, I reference him from time to time with ‘what’s-his-name.’”
When asked what her thoughts were on Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign — which the Republican kingmaker has frequently hinted at — Pelosi was dismissive.
“If he wants to run again, he’ll be the first president who was impeached twice and defeated twice,” she told her cheering audience.
