Two months following his very public firing by the “Today” show, former NBC News star Matt Lauer has been laying low in the Hamptons.
Back in December, it was reported that Lauer and his wife Annettee Roque both decided to remove their wedding rings and were fighting to save their marriage after a mountain of sexual harrassment allegations against the liberal broadcaster surfaced.
Over the weekend, things took a turn for the worse… and Lauer’s wife kicked him out of their multi-million dollar home that they shared with their three children.
Roque forced Lauer out of their $36 million North Haven estate in the Hamptons, but not to worry… he moved into their second family home nearby.
The couple together owns homes in North Haven, Sag Harbor and a 40-acre horse farm in Water Mill.
Must be nice to have been making $20 million a year…
Lauer’s wife has not yet filed for divorce, but reports from those close to the family state that it will likely happen soon.
A well kept secret around NBC News was how badly things had become between the couple. They had reportedly been living separate lives for a decade.
Roque had previously filed for divorced from Lauer in 2006 citing “mental abuse, extreme mental and emotional distress, humiliation, torment, and anxiety.”
Critics called it a rocky relationship that she should have ran from years ago. However, she withdrew the filing weeks later after he offered her a post-nuptial agreement.
With Matt no longer employed, his wife planning to divorce him ,and women around the world thinking he is a disgrace, it is safe to say that his world is crumbling to pieces.
