Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, 73, was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after falling and needing emergency surgery on his leg, The New York Post reported.
He told the post that he is in good spirits and recovering following the surgery on his quadriceps tendon.

According to Giuliani, years of baseball as a kid led to “catchers knee” which he’s been suffering with for years.
“Doctors said it would deteriorate, then my knee gave way when I was walking on Sunday,” he told the post.
He thanked his wife Judith, a trained nurse, for her quick thinking upon his fall.
“I tried to get up but Judith ordered me not to move. If it hadn’t been for her, the injury would have been a lot worse. I now call her ‘Nurse Nancy.'”
Judith also spoke to the post, saying, “Rudy had to have surgery right away. He will be in the hospital for a few more days, but he’s in great spirits. He keeps calling me ‘Nurse Nancy.’ He is the eternal optimist. He may have to use crutches for a while.”
At 73-years-old, this isn’t Giuliani’s first medical issue. He survived prostate cancer after being diagnosed in 2000, and falls can be very dangerous for someone of his age.
“Giuliani was under consideration for secretary of state before withdrawing his name. He’s been advising the Trump administration on cybersecurity,” The Associated Press reported.
