The liberal media is falling apart! Just hours after disgraced former NBC News star Keith Olbermann unexpectedly quit while on-air and days since NBC News fired anchor Mark Halperin, the biggest bombshell to hit the mainstream media rocked America on Wednesday.
NBC News fired longtime “Today” show host Matt Lauer for “inappropriate sexual behavior,” making him the second morning television show personality to lose his job because of sexual misconduct charges in a week.
The news came as such a surprise, Lauer’s co-host Savannah Guthrie fought back tears when she made the announcement at the top of Wednesday’s “Today” show.

So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate!

NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack said the network had received a complaint from a colleague regarding Lauer on Monday night, and a review determined it was a clear violation of company standards. While it was the first complaint lodged against Lauer, Lack said in a memo to staff that “we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”
Lauer, 59, has hosted “Today” for two decades and used his public position to frequently criticize conservative values and politics.
“Since joining the program on January 6, 1997, Lauer’s liberal bias has routinely seeped into his news coverage,” NewsBusters reported in January. “From repeatedly excusing Bill Clinton’s sex scandals as mere ‘peccadillos’ to bashing George W. Bush’s ‘controversial’presidency to gushing over Barack Obama as a ‘savior’ for the country, his double-standard treatment for Democrats and Republicans has been clear.”
However, Lauer was a money making asset for NBC News. When paired with Katie Couric, “Today” was the longtime ratings leader and was highly lucrative. It now runs second in the ratings to ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
He joins a lengthening list of liberal media figures felled by sexual misconduct charges this year. Besides Halperin, they include CBS News’ Charlie Rose, National Public Radio newsroom chief Michael Oreskes, and The New York Times White House correspondent Glenn Thrush.
Lack, in his memo, said that “we are deeply saddened by this turn of events. But we will face it together as a news organization — and do it in as transparent a manner as we can.”
Critics say it’s not enough, though.
If NBC News really wants to purge this nasty behavior from their news rooms, it’s time to start at the top.
