Contributors to Hannity have become known for supporting former President Donald Trump. One contributor even boasted familial ties to the former president.
Yet, despite the announcement of a new campaign, this contributor is leaving the payroll.

Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law, will no longer be paid to appear on Fox News, the network told the Los Angeles Times.
“We appreciate Lara’s valuable contributions across Fox News Media programming,” the network said in a statement obtained by The Hill.
Fox News is owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, and The Horn News has reported on Murdoch’s apparent attempts to distance himself from Trump’s 2024 campaign.
For example, the New York Post is also owned by Murdoch, and the NY Post ran Trump’s campaign announcement on p. 26 under the headline “Florida man makes announcement.”
However, the network still employs other figures from the Trump administration. For exmaple, the payroll includes former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Fox News bans its paid contributors from political activities. “Fox News does not condone any talent participating in campaign events,” the network said in a statement in 2018.
The network apparently still enforces this policy. For instance, former contributor Sarah Huckabee Sanders left the network to run for governor of Arkansas.
Lara Trump has yet to announce any political activities. However, she advised Donald Trump’s previous campaign, and so she may return to his current campaign.
In that case, Lara Trump could still appear on Fox News as an unpaid guest. In fact, she frequented the network during the 2020 campaign.

However, Lara Trump maintained a more consistent presence while working a s paid contributor. She appeared on Hannity 25 times during the first 7.5 months of Joe Biden’s presidency.
Take a look at a clip from that time —
Earlier tonight, I appeared on Hannity with Lara Trump to discuss why Alaska deserves a real Conservative leader in the U.S. Senate. While Lisa Murkowski continues to fail Alaskans, I will show up and fight for Alaska every single day. That’s a promise. pic.twitter.com/kR01dheod0
