The liberal “watchdog” group that took down former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has a new target — Sean Hannity.
With Hannity heading on Memorial Day vacation, fans are concerned he is going the way of O’Reilly.
But Hannity isn’t taking the attack lying down.
Media Matters for America, the leftist group run by Hillary Clinton’s longtime attack dog David Brock, has been on the offensive.
The group has applied nonstop pressure on Hannity’s advertisers for the past few weeks.
The Fox News host recently slammed Brock and his cronies, saying they are guilty of “liberal fascism” for targeting advertisers on his Fox News Channel show.
So far, only one company has announced that it would no longer advertise there. The Chicago-based Cars.com has succumbed to the liberal campaign and decided to suspend its backing.
Hannity went on the attack against the organization Media Matters for America on Thursday, which just a day earlier had published a list of companies that had run commercials on his show this month.
It seems to be working. With attention drawn to him, Hannity reached a big audience of 2.5 million people on Tuesday — about 50 percent more than he had last year on the same date.
Fox News has also come out and supported Hannity publicly, insisting: Yes, he will be back after Memorial Day.
Hannity is here to stay.
