President Donald Trump is undoubtedly facing the most dangerous issue of his entire political career.
But he’s getting some bipartisan praise from unlikely liberals across the aisle, and the public display of unity has turned heads around the political world.
Both CNN’s Dana Bash and far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. have gone out of their way to give the White House praiose during this pressing time.
Bash, a longtime veteran of the left-wing cable news network, called Trump the “kind of leader that people need,” after the President’s March 17 coronavirus press conference.
“If you look at the big picture,” she said. “This was remarkable from the President of the United States. This is a non-partisan, this is an important thing to note and to applaud from an American standpoint, from a human standpoint.”
It was a “hell freezes over” moment for many Americans accustomed to seeing anchors on the CNN network attack the president.
But Dana Bash marked a shift in tone — even if it only for a moment.

Rep. Omar followed suit, directly responding to Trump’s moves to help Americans fight economic impact and the threat of unemployment in lieu of the coronavirus.
She put “politics aside” — literally.
Omar wrote on social media about Trump’s latest move: “Politics aside, this is incredible and the right response in this critical time.”

” … we should never let politics get in the way of good policy,” Omar added. “This is a great start and hope others will be part of a united front to push for good policies that will help us work through the economic anxiety the country is feeling right now.”
Trump even received some acclaim closer to home.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo also praised the White House after learning that Trump injected cash to all Americans, suspended mortgage foreclosures, and ordered the increased production of medical supplies.
Very nice @NYGovCuomo! @realDonaldTrump “team is on it. They have been responsive late at night, early in the morning. And thus far, they have been doing everything that they can do, and I want to say Thank You, and I want to say that I appreciate it.”

There’s no telling whether this bipartisan unity will continue after COVID-19 is defeated — but for now, the encouragement beyond party lines is a nice breath of fresh air after what has long been a divisive Washington D.C.
