Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-T.X., has quickly become the most famous member of her party in the past few days.
And depending on who you ask, it’s not because of anything flattering.
Over the past week, Crockett has unleashed a series of unhinged remarks and antics that have gone viral across social media.
Recently, Crockett, who sits on the House committee overseeing DOGE, spoke at a virtual rally for the “Tesla Takedown movement,” a so-called “peaceful protest platform” organizing demonstrations at Tesla locations across the country on March 29, made the following comments:
“On March 29, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down,” Crockett said.
The words prompted Attorney General Pam Bondi to issue a stern warning to the congresswoman, saying:
“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country.”
Then over the weekend Crockett spoke in front of the Human Rights Campaign and called Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has been in a wheelchair for decades, “Governor Hot Wheels.”
But Crockett’s latest move could be a product of her coming completely unglued, with video now surfacing of her allegedly assaulting a Capitol Hill media correspondent.
Here’s the latest.
Reporter Charles Downes attempted to ask Crockett about attacks on Tesla while she was walking the hallways of Congress.
She appeared to grab Downes’ phone and shove it out of her way. You can watch the exchange unfold below.

Downes filed an ethics complaint and allegedly had his hand scratched up by Crockett during the exchange according to a photo he posted on X.
Charles told me Jasmine’s long finger nails scratched his hand, leaving a red mark and indentations from her nails on the top of his hand.

It’s certainly safe to say it’s murky if there was an actual assault. However, other members of Congress who were at the scene did condemn her actions.
Republican Congressman Tim Burchett, who was right next to Crockett when it happened, spoke about what happened with reporters while leaving the Capitol.
“She [Crockett] shouldn’t have grabbed that guy’s phone whatsoever. Everybody’s in everybody’s face up here. That’s part of the game. You have to live with it. You have to be adults,” Burkett told reporters.

Crockett’s office has not made a public comment at the time of publication.
However, it’s safe to say that her antics and viral theatrics are quickly becoming out-of-control, and a potential liability for the Democratic Party.
