Just a few short weeks ago, Oprah Winfrey stood in front of the cameras at the Democratic National Convention and touted her reasons why Americans should vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
Here’s the proof:

Fast forward to today, and it seems like Winfrey is starting to sing a different tune about Harris.
Last night, Winfrey hosted a two-hour “Unite for America” livestream event from Michigan that was meant to highlight the grassroots organizers who are backing Harris and give voters an opportunity to ask her about her platform.
Unfortunately, Winfrey was forced to step in and essentially nudge Harris to answer questions from the audience she seemed to be dodging.
For example, Harris was questioned about what she would do to secure the southern border.
“So it’s a wonderful and important question. I, you know, my background was as a prosecutor, and I was also the elected attorney general for two terms of the border state. So this is not a theoretical issue for me. This is something I’ve actually worked on,” Harris began in her three-minute answer, which ended with her blasting Republicans for not passing the bipartisan border bill.
“So to answer Justin’s question,” Winfrey interjected.

“Now that that bill is gone and hasn’t passed, will you introduce–” the billionaire talk show host asked before Harris cut in.
“Absolutely,” the vice president replied.
In other words, even Winfrey is being forced to make Harris get to the point and answer direct questions.
Harris hit on a number of other topics, too.
But perhaps one of the more nonsensical comments Harris made to Winfrey last night was on guns.
When pressed on gun control, Harris claimed that if you broke into her house, she was going to shoot you.
“I’m a gun owner,” she claimed.

Interesting take from Harris, who has been a vocal critic of gun ownership.
Kamala: “Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn't mean that we're not going to walk into that home and check to see if you're being responsible.”

Oprah tried to call out Harris, but in the end, she didn’t hold her accountable.
At the end of the event, Oprah said:
“This is the moment for people who are tired of all of the bickering and all of the name calling, people who are exhausted by the craziness and the made up stories and the conspiracies. You know that we can do better and that we deserve better. You know this. I know you know this… We’re better than this.”
