Veteran comedian Jerry Seinfeld didn’t break stride when faced with a pro-Palestine heckler during his performance at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia on Sunday night.
Seinfeld was in the midst of his stand-up routine when a member of the audience began shouting about the Israeli-Hamas war. However, the 68-year-old comedian quickly turned the interruption into a comedic bit.
“We have a genius, ladies and gentlemen. He solved the Middle East conflict,” Seinfeld quipped to laughs from the crowd. “It’s the Jewish comedians, that’s who we have to get. They’re the ones doing everything.”
Seinfeld, who has been vocal in expressing support for Israel amid its ongoing conflict with Hamas in the past, continued mocking the heckler as security began escorting them out.
“They’re going to start punching you in three seconds, so I would try and get all your genius out so we all learn from you,” he joked. “It’s a comedy show, you moron. Get out of here.”
Seinfeld then poked fun at the heckler’s shortsighted tactics.
“You’re really influencing everyone here. We’re all on your side now because you have made your point so well and in the right venue. You’ve come to the right place for political conversation.”
The audience rewarded Seinfeld’s deft handling of the heckler with loud cheers.
“Tomorrow we will read in the paper: Middle East conflict 100% solved thanks to man at the Qudos Arena heckling Jewish comedian,” Seinfeld joked. “You have to go 20,000 miles from the problem and disrupt a comedian’s show. That is how you solve world issues.”

This was not the first time Seinfeld has dealt with pro-Palestinian protesters at his shows. Last month, his comedy set in Virginia was also briefly interrupted by a heckler accusing him of being a “genocide supporter,” which drew boos from the crowd.
