Hate her or love her, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., isn’t afraid to speak her mind — even if that puts her in the crosshairs of legal investigators.
Case in point? AOC just admitted that she openly gave illegal immigrants advice on how to avoid law enforcement, even if they had committed a crime.
During a recent interview on NPR’s “Morning Edition”, AOC said that illegal aliens were among her constituents.
During the interview, when asked about Border Czar Tom Homan’s recent remarks about her illegally advising non-citizens on how to avoid federal immigration authorities, AOC admitted she did just that.
“I was informing all of my constituents of their constitutional protections and, in particular, their constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure in the United States,” she claimed.
NPR noted that Homan was upset over AOC’s remarks because she was giving advice to illegal aliens on how to continue violating America’s laws.
When asked if that is what she was doing, AOC responded:
“I was giving advice to all of my constituents, yeah.”

Homan reached out to the Department of Justice to seek guidance on whether what AOC was doing constituted a federal crime.
She said that she has not heard from the DOJ, but she plans on reaching out to inquire about the matter.
When asked what she would ask the DOJ, AOC said: “There is a member of the Trump administration who is threatening and seeks to open an inquiry, and are you going to do it?”
She claimed that the Trump administration was “bluffing” and that it was important to call it out.
“I think that this is what authoritarians do. I think this is what kleptocracies do,” she claimed. “They rely on the illusion of power.”
Last month, Homan had demanded a Department of Justice investigation into AOC after she hosted a webinar advising illegal immigrants on how to avoid ICE encounters and deportation.
“What I find disturbing is that any member of Congress wants to educate people on how they evade law enforcement,” Homan told Fox News.
“You can claim you’re educating those constitutional rights, okay, you can keep that claim, okay,” he warned. “But what she is in fact doing is telling people ‘Don’t open the door, hide in your home, don’t talk to ICE.’”
The webinar, titled “Know Your Rights in case of ICE” was hosted by Ocasio-Cortez’s office without her personal appearance, was intended to give illegal immigrants information on warrant requirements and their constitutional rights.
AOC’s staff characterized ICE raids as “political tactics” intended to create fear, advising that “ICE cannot enter your home without a warrant signed by a judge. Tell the agents to show you the warrant by sliding it under the door.”
Homan blasted the webinar as a “how to” guide to circumvent the law.
“We are talking about people who are in the country illegally, committed a crime. They are public safety threats, and they’ve been ordered removed by a federal judge,” Homan said.
“It’s like AOC and others don’t want ICE to enforce the law that they enacted.
