There’s a brand new sensation on the southern border — and this time it doesn’t exactly have anything to do with illegal immigration, the progressive Democrats, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., or President Donald Trump.
The new topic of discussion is Agent Kiara Cervantes, also trending as “#IceBae” across social media. The nickname is derived from Cervantes’ work as a part of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the affectionate abbreviation of the term babe (“bae”) used by many social media users.
Cervantes provided security for Vice President Mike Pence during his visit to a border patrol station in South Texas over the weekend.
She was first seen in front of the blocked off fence area, watching over the detainees.
The photo took social media by storm —

Cervantes took to Twitter to speak to her newfound fans.
“Soooo it’s crazy…. but here I am,” she wrote. “I’m hearing something about a viral picture. I would like to say I was just doing my job.. providing security for the visit of @VP. It was an honor and I take a lot of pride in my job!”

According to the New York Post, Cervantes is a registered Democrat — who neither voted for Trump or Hillary in 2016.
Angry liberals quickly responded, claiming she was a disgrace to Latinos by working for the border patrol.
“Yo your job is being a nazi,” one Twitter user wrote. “Quit.”

But most responses were positive and praised the border patrol officer for her bravery.
“Thank you for your service!” one Twitter user said. “I’m retired US Navy and feel safer knowing good men and women like you are protecting our borders.”
