Police officers in Tacoma, Washington found themselves involved in an unusual chase on November 9 when a swift-footed piglet led them on a neighborhood pursuit, just days after a separate incident involving escaped horses in the area.
Body camera footage released by the Tacoma Police Department captured both officers and residents attempting to corner what officers playfully dubbed the “non-compliant” suspect.
“We have eyes on the pig; it is now trespassing,” one officer joked over the radio as the animal was cornered in a yard.
The pig, nicknamed “Notorious P.I.G.,” was eventually apprehended after it’s run from the law and, squealing like a caught bandit, was placed in the back of a police squad car.
The runaway was transported to Rusty Bar Ranch, a local animal sanctuary, where it has joined another rescued pig.
“Both were sentenced to live out the rest of their lives as spoiled residents at Rusty Bar Ranch,” the facility posted on social media.
“It didn’t take long to learn both pigs were members of the S.W.I.N.E. gang, however they agreed to give up their gang affiliation and go by the names of Hammy and Tori.”
