At the White House on Wednesday, President Joe Biden spoke about the Supreme Court’s leaked draft… and he insulted 70 million Americans.
Biden was speaking about the Supreme Court’s leaked draft of a opinion to “overrule” Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. If implemented, the opinion would allow state legislatures greater leeway to decide when — or whether — to allow abortion.
“What are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history — in recent American history,” Biden said
By “MAGA,” Biden was referring to the acronym of former President Donald Trump’s promise to “make America great again.” He appeared to be implying that all 70,000,000 Trump voters made up an “extreme political organization.”

Fox News host Sean Hannity slammed Biden for this “ridiculous” statement, and he provoked some like-minded comments from an unlikely source: Democratic leader and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
“Tulsi, I’d love to get your reaction to Biden saying the MAGA crowd is the most extreme political organization that’s existed in recent American history,” Hannity said. “You’re a Democrat. How do you react to that? Because this obviously ridiculous.”
Gabbard responded:
It’s worse than ridiculous, Sean. It is absolutely despicable and outrageous. When you look at the president of the United States of America calling millions of Americans essentially terrorists, people who politically opposed him or voted against him, he’s calling them terrorists in an attempt to intimidate them into silence.
As a veteran of the Iraq War, Gabbard eviscerated Biden’s record on counterterrorism, particularly his Justice Department’s unit for domestic terror.
Gabbard endorsed Biden for president in 2020. However, she had previously been running against him for the Democratic nomination.
And we know this because we’ve heard this before from both him and his attorney general. You remember when his attorney general said anyone who holds extremist or anti-authority views will be targeted for investigation and potential prosecution by their domestic terrorist unit.
Gabbard was referring to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, but it remains unclear which of Garland’s quotations she was discussing.
She continued:
He’s essentially saying that this ‘MAGA crowd’ are worse than terrorists. This is outrageous. So, for every American who’s watching, every American who’s seeing this, no matter how you feel about the MAGA crowd, this is an authoritarian assault on our freedom, and we need to stand together very strongly against this attempt to intimidate and silence anyone who holds political views that are different from or opposed to what this president, this administration are furthering. This is an assault on our democracy.
Gabbard also discussed Supreme Court leak more broadly.
When you look at the different efforts to assault our freedom and democracy, it continually points to the fact that they’re afraid of the people. They’re afraid of us. They’re afraid of the question being put to the people through their state legislature, for the people’s voices to be heard…
We have the fact that the Supreme Court is not in place to legislate from the bench. People’s representatives at the state level, the federal level are charged to make laws, not the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court needs to make decisions based on the Constitution…
I think it’s also critical to point out that this leak sets a very, very dangerous precedent for our Supreme Court… Our Supreme Court justices cannot operate until the fear that they will have partisan political activists in their house intimidating and threatening their ability to do their job per the Constitution.
