On June 30, Presdient Joe Biden was staying in D.C. to discuss the Supreme Court’s recent decisions, but Vice President Kamala Harris was speaking at a festival in New Orleans.
And she went viral for two different “word salads” uttered at this festival.
If the Biden campaign is trying to improve the vice president’s public image, it’s not succeeding.

First, Harris went viral for her very abstract definition of the term “culture.”
“Culture is — it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right? And present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment that is a reflection of joy,” Harris said. “We have to find ways to also express the way we feel about the moment in terms of just having language and a connection to how people are experiencing life, and I think about it in that way, too.”
In Harris’s defense, the moderator was also overusing the term “culture.”
In fact, the moderator described herself as a “cultural strategist” before lobbing a question at Harris.
“Policy alone, without using culture to actually shift hearts and minds of people doesn’t really make the mark for us,” the moderator asked. “What are some of your ideas as to how we can do that and how important do you think culture is, in particular, to help us do that?”
If you ask an incoherent question, you get an incoherent answer.
However, Harris didn’t perform any better during other portions of the festival. In another viral video, Harris long-windedly recounted the proverb of the frog in boiling water.
Harris began dramatically before trailing off. She said, “I would also ask this of all the friends in the sisterhood here. You know that — that thing about the frogs and the pots. OK. So, here it goes. There’s two pots of water, and there’s two frogs…”
She went on to explain the proverb in excruciating detail.
