Former President Bill Clinton seems like a easy person to spot in a crowd, right?
Well, apparently not as the former president was victim to a curious case of mistaken identity during a recent, high-profile campaign stop in Georgia.
While out supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign at a stop at a Georgia McDonald’s restaurant, an employee had no idea Clinton was speaking to him.
Instead, they thought it was current president Joe Biden.
A video appears to have been originally posted by Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña shows Clinton walking up the cashier, exchanging a few words, only for the employee to assume he was Joe Biden.
Clinton, wearing a baseball jacket with “USA” on its back, exchanged greetings with the employee, the video shows.
The employee is seen giving Clinton a curious look and suddenly asks, while shaking hands with him, “You Joe? Mr. Joe?”
Someone in the background of the video clarified it was Clinton and the employee recognizes her mistake and says, “Oh! I gotta hug you!” and ran around the counter to hug Clinton.
Other employees also seemed surprised before taking photos of their colleague with Clinton.

The case of mistaken identity aside, Clinton has a well-known affinity for McDonald’s.
While Governor of Arkansas, Clinton frequented a McDonald’s in Little Rock, Arkansas so many times that the establishment bears a plaque commemorating his visits.
Clinton made the visits during his morning runs while serving as governor and during his 1992 presidential campaign, the plaque claims.
“Thank you for your business, Mr. President,” the plaque, dedicated in 2019, read.

Clinton himself joked about his love to McDonald’s at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, saying, “I’ll be so happy when [Harris] actually enters the White House because she will break my record as the president who has spent the most time at McDonald’s.”
Clinton was referring to Kamala Harris saying she once worked at McDonald’s while growing up.
Clinton’s love for the fast-food chain even spawned a famous 1992 “Saturday Night Live” sketch when the late comedian Phil Hartman played Clinton stopping by a McDonald’s while on a jog.
“Let me tell you something, there’s gonna be a whole bunch of things we don’t tell Mrs. Clinton. Fast food is the least of our worries, okay, buddy?” Hartman’s portrayal of Clinton laughingly tells a member of his security detail, played by Kevin Nealon, who expresses concern the visit would be disapproved by the former first lady.
This is one of the most iconic Clinton-themed sketches during the show.
