“I wanna tell you Gorsuch, I wanna tell you Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. made these comments in a speech on the steps of the highest court in the land, in reference to Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanugh — and he’s getting scorn for what many are calling “dangerous” threats.

The United States Supreme Court is stepping in and reminding Schumer that his threats and bullying won’t be tolerated.
Çhief Justice John Roberts yesterday criticized the remarks as “inappropriate” and “dangerous.”
“Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous,” Roberts said in a statement.
Schumer’s threats didn’t sit well with President Donald Trump, either.
“If a Republican did this, he or she would be arrested, or impeached. Serious action MUST be taken NOW!” Trump tweeted.
In fact, multiple Republican leaders have come out to publicly denounce Schumer’s widely-perceived threat, including Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio and Mark Meadows, R-N.C., as well as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
Fox News Judge Andrew Napolitano declared Schumer’s speech “dangerous if more people pick up on it.”
As for Roberts, he has repeatedly proven himself to be non-partisan, even tangling with Trump on occasion.
In 2018, Roberts rebuked Trump for the president’s criticism of an “Obama judge.”
The justices are currently weighing a Louisiana law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. A federal judge found that just one of Louisiana’s three abortion clinics would remain open if the law is allowed to take effect.
Roberts is expected to be the deciding vote.
