Tensions are high in Minneapolis after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot a 37-year-old woman yesterday, in what officials say was an act of self defense.

The fatal shooting occurred yesterday during an ICE enforcement operation in south Minneapolis, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

DHS officials said agents were attempting to make arrests when Renee Nicole Good, 37, tried to use her vehicle as a weapon against officers, prompting a federal agent to fire in self-defense.

Good was pronounced dead after being struck by gunfire. The agent involved has not been publicly identified, and the incident remains under investigation.

Video of the tragic shooting appeared to show Good’s Honda Pilot making slight contact with an ICE agent as he opened fire.

Good was among several people who allegedly blocked the street with their vehicles to prevent the agents from moving, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

According to reports, agents got out of their blocked truck and ordered the woman to move her SUV, at which point she sped toward one of the officers, pushing him with her vehicle, federal agents alleged.

As he spun toward the driver’s window, he fired three shots into the car, footage from numerous angles shows.

President Trump and other officials have said Good’s killing was justified as the officer was acting in self-defense.

The Department of Homeland Security called Good a domestic terrorist who attempted to kill federal agents.

“One of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them — an act of domestic terrorism,” DHS assistant secretary for public affairs Tricia McLaughlin wrote on X.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday evening that Good tried to run a law enforcement officer over with her vehicle.

The fatal shooting of Good, was “preventable,” Noem said, reiterating that ICE agents were carrying out lawful enforcement operations at the time of the incident.

However, Minnesota officials pushed back, and said the deadly shooting was an unjustified murder of an innocent American woman.

Embattled Gov. Tim Walz called the DHS’ explanation of the shooting “propaganda.”

“I’ve seen the video. Don’t believe this propaganda machine,” Walz wrote on X. “The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice.”

“To ICE, get the f**k out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said during a tense press conference after the shooting.

“Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite,” he said.

The shooting came as the DHS was engaged in a widespread immigration operation in Minnesota, partially spurred by allegations of multibillion-dollar federal fraud schemes.
