Four time Cy Young Award winning pitcher Clayton Kershaw has done it all during his long career in the MLB.
But he pulled of a career first during his start against the Colorado Rockies this week, throwing perhaps the most unhittable pitch of his life.
But it wasn’t what you think.
Midway through the third inning of yesterday’s start, Kershaw had a batter with an 0-2 count when he went for the payoff pitch.
While winding up to throw, however, something went haywire, and Kershaw ended up stuttering before spiking the ball into the ground not even halfway to the plate.

The result was perhaps the worst pitch of his entire career — officially tracked as a 58 mph curveball that never made it to home plate.
Despite the embarrassing moment, Kershaw ended up getting the strikeout on the Rockies batter Ryan Ritter.
The 37-year-old Kershaw improved to 8-2 on the season after throwing 5 2/3 innings with three strikeouts, three earned runs and one walk on the road in Colorado.
